C.H.É About

Why C.H.É exists.

CHE was built from years of seeing the same problem in hairdressing, again and again, in different cities and different studios.

A talented stylist takes a job at a salon that looked right on paper. Within six months they have left, frustrated.

The salon thought they had the right hire. The stylist thought they had the right space. Both were technically correct. Neither match was real.

The match was never the CV.

The reason almost never comes down to skill. It comes down to culture, rhythm, and the way someone feels inside a space.

Whether the energy is calm or electric. Whether the music suits them. Whether the team works alone or together. Whether the clientele is the kind they want to spend their working life with.

The CV does not capture any of that. Instagram does not either. Job ads barely scratch the surface.

I have spent years running studios, hiring stylists, working with freelancers, managing chair rental, and watching how often the wrong match damages both sides. Stylists leave. Salons start over. Time and trust get burned.

The industry has been treating this as a recruitment problem when it is a fit problem.

What CHE is.

CHE is a small attempt to do this differently. Not a job board. Not a recruitment agency. A small collective where stylists, barbers, salons and barbershops can find each other based on what actually matters: working style, culture, étiquette, the feel of a space.

It is early. The platform is small on purpose. The bar to be on it is meant to feel deliberate.

If you are a stylist, a barber, a salon or a barbershop who reads this and thinks "yes, this is the part nobody talks about", you are probably the kind of person CHE is trying to be useful to.
