I have spent years running studios, hiring stylists and working alongside freelancers. Through KOOP in London and Manila, I have seen how much a space shapes the people in it.
A stylist can have the right experience and a salon can offer the right role, yet working together still feels difficult. Often, the missing conversation is about the everyday: the pace, the atmosphere, the expectations, the way people treat each other.
Some people thrive in a busy, energetic room. Others do their best work with more quiet and independence. What matters is knowing what works for you and being able to talk about it honestly.
